A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in east London Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Hamilton Road and St. Julien Street at around 5:45 p.m. to reports of a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV.
Upon arrival, the male driver of the motorcycle was found with vital signs absent. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, witnesses at the scene reported seeing the westbound GMC Traverse turn in front of the oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle was reported to have struck a gas meter, and officials were called in to shut down gas at the location.
The female driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased male and the female driver have not been release, but London Police say they are both from London.
There is no word on whether charges will be laid.
Hamilton Road was shut down for several hours as the Traffic Management Unit was called in, but it has since reopened.
