Budweiser Gardens will be bustling with activity Thursday as Londoners come together to support the United Way of London and Middlesex.
The annual 3M Harvest Lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the annual luncheon, officials with the United Way will announce the goal for the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.
“Last year we raised just over $9.1 million, and that went to work helping more than 85,000 people in our community who access United Way funded programs and services,” said United Way of London and Middlesex CEO Kelly Zeigner.
She says the organization will focus on highlighting where donations are used to help those in need.
“We’re really focusing on the impact that United Way has on the community,” said Zeigner.
“Really helping people understand just what those dollars do. That’s one thing, you know we splash a number on the screen, and sometimes it’s hard to understand what the impact is. So, we’re looking to do a little bit more to help people understand the value that United Way brings to the community, and the impact that anyone can have when they make a donation.”
Zeigner says the campaign launch is a great networking opportunity for colleagues and friends, and highlights the vast array of work the United Way carries out during the year.
Tickets for the 3M Harvest Lunch are $10, and will be available at the door.
