Federal Minister of Transportation Marc Garneau will tour The Forest City Wednesday.
The Montreal-area MP and former astronaut has a full schedule of meetings and speaking engagements planed across London, hosted by London-West MP Kate Young.
“I am thrilled to showcase the London region to Minister Garneau and to introduce him to the members of the Chamber of Commerce and the several leaders of our region,” said Young.
“I look forward to advancing projects that will contribute to the growth of the middle-class and the development of, not only London-West, but the whole of Southwestern Ontario.”
Garneau will start the day by addressing the London Chamber of Commerce during a breakfast at the DoubleTree by Hilton at 7:45 a.m.

Following breakfast, he’ll speak to grade 4 to 8 students at Arthur Ford Elementary Public School to talk about innovation in transportation and alternate fuel during a Let’s Talk Science and an Energy4Travel event.
Garneau will then head south to visit ZTR Control Systems on the south edge of the city. The London-based equipment management solution company will present him with customized locomotive modernization and remote asset monitoring applications for the railway industry.
“I am looking forward to meeting and discussing with the people of London,” said Garneau.
“Our Government is working in partnership with local communities and the private sector to create new development opportunities that will improve the well-being and quality of life for their communities, while driving economic growth for all Canadians.”
A meeting with Mayor Matt Brown and President, and CEO of the London International Airport Mike Seabrook will also take place before Garneau concludes his visit.
