London City Council has pumped the breaks on a plan to speed up the removal of LTC buses from Dundas Street.
Last week, the Civic Works Committee endorsed a motion to remove the buses from Dundas Street next April, instead of January, 2018 as originally planned.
The target date has now been pushed to next September after the London Transit Commision said the timeline for changing the routes by the spring would be challenging.
The City of London will now apply for federal funding to help cover the cost of rerouting buses off Dundas. The transition is estimated to cost $1.8 million, plus an additional $300,000 in added fuel and labour costs annually.
The route change would see eastbound buses moved to King Street and westbound buses moved to Queen Street.
