With approximately 2,000 people expected to be in attendance, the London and District Labour Council’s annual Labour Day Picnic is set to take place in Thames Park.
“The Labour Day Picnic has been a staple for decades,” Patti Dalton, President of the London and District Labour Council said. “This is a community event that a lot of people look forward to every year.”
The organization is providing free hotdogs, beverages and ice cream.
“I would recommend to anyone who wants hotdogs or ice cream to come earlier. We do not want to disappoint anyone,” Dalton said.
A variety of kids games and face painting will be available for attendees.
Dalton stated that the event is an important step for achieving the goals of the organization.
“Our labour council has been involved with the $15 and Fairness campaign and this is part of our very important campaign to gain labour law reform,” Dalton said.
The event runs from from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
