A couple dozen people managed to avoid injury as a car careened into a Fabricland location.
About 20 customers were inside the Wonderland Rd. location when the collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. All of them managed to escape without being hurt.

One employee, Kim Venta, explained to AM980 what it was like to be inside the store.
“There was a big thud and crash and screams. I couldn’t tell what it was from where I was at, so we took a look and there was a car in the front window,” she said. “So we had to evacuate the building and go out and make sure that the lady was OK, and she was.”
Inside the store, glass was scattered around the floor. The force of the car sent glass flying 15-20 feet inside.
“We had kids running around so it’s a good thing there were no kids in front of that window at the time,” said Venta. “And it is close to a cutting table where usually customers are gathering to get things cut so we’re really happy nobody was injured because it could have turned out a lot worse.”
Police outside confirmed that the driver did not suffer any injuries. They added that it was likely a case of the driver hitting the gas instead of the brake.
The Fabricland store will be closed for the foreseeable future.
“It has to be assessed. It’s better to not have any shoppers in the store just in case, it is an older building,” said Venta.
