A crisis in Grand Bend was averted Tuesday afternoon as a lifeguard and off-duty paramedic resuscitated an unconscious swimmer.
The Lambton County OPP reported that an on-duty lifeguard and an off-duty paramedic teamed up to offer CPR to a 21-year old male, who had been pulled from the waters of Lake Huron.
Police noted that the man, an international student whose name has not been released, was initially breathing before falling unconscious and unresponsive just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
According to an OPP spokesperson, the man was “successfully revive(d).”
Lambton County paramedics transported him to hospital for further treatment.
