The OPP says an elderly man has died after being rescued from the waters off of Grand Bend.
Officers with the Lambton detachment say it was just before 8 p.m. on Thursday when they and other local emergency personnel were called out to the beach in the town. When they arrived, they found good Samaritans performing CPR on a man who had been pulled from Lake Huron. He was reportedly unconscious and unresponsive when he was plucked from the water.
The man was then treated and transported to hospital by Lambton County EMS where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s name hasn’t been released at this time as officers are still in the process of contacting his family.
Investigators say an autopsy is scheduled to be completed on Friday.
