Editor’s note: Environment Canada ended its severe thunderstorm warning for London at 6:45 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for London and parts of southwestern Ontario.
The AM980 Gerrie Electric Storm Centre is tracking a line of thunderstorms that’s extending from just north of Grand Bend to Lake St. Clair. The storm is moving east and may reach the London area around 6 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect for Sarnia-Lambton, Huron-Perth, and Waterloo-Wellington.
Environment Canada says 90 km/h and wind gusts are possible and could produce intense lightning and torrential downpours.

The national weather agency says heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
