A 19-year-old Hamilton man is dead after drowning off of Long Point Saturday afternoon.
Norfolk OPP say they were called to Long Point Provincial Park at about 4:15pm to the report of a possible drowning.
Investigators believe the 19-year-old was was swimming with two other friends in Lake Erie in the Outer Bay when he went under the water and never resurfaced.
The Canadian Coast Guard and their Hercules aircraft began searching for the male, however, poor weather conditions forced officials to suspend the search.
At around 7:15pm, two males walking along the beach at the provincial park located the male in the water and brought him to shore.
Attempts to revive the male via CPR were unsuccessful — and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified as 19-year-old Hussein Da Silva of Hamilton.
