A man is dead after a small plane crashed onto a street in downtown Peterborough early morning Friday.
There was no immediate word on what may have caused the small Piper aircraft to crash in the city’s south end around 1 a.m. at High St. and Lansdowne St.
It’s believed the pilot was the only person on board. His name has not been released, but he is believed to be in his 20’s or 30’s.
There are reports he was still strapped into his seat when emergency crews arrived. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The Transportation Safety Board has been called out to investigate.
