A 28-year-old suspect wanted by St. Thomas Police in connection with a homicide investigation is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Sonny Daniel Cloutier (pictured) of St. Thomas is wanted on a charge of first degree murder in connection with the death of 20-year-old William “Billy” Lamers.
Cloutier is described as a white man about 5’11 and 165 lbs with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a medium build. He has a large 25cm tattoo on his left arm of a girl with a rosary.
St. Thomas Police have already charged 23-year-old Corey Jolliffe with first degree murder in connection with the case. He is expected to appear in St. Thomas court via video on August 15th.
The investigation began around 12:45 a.m. Thursday when police were called to the victim’s apartment unit at 337 Talbot Street to assist EMS for a medical emergency.
The victim was transported to St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital where he later died.
An autopsy was performed at University Hospital in London and confirmed Lamers died as a result of ‘sharp force trauma’ sustained during a confrontation at his apartment.
Police say the victim in this case and the two suspects were known to each other.
St. Thomas police are asking for the public’s help in locating Cloutier. Police say if you know where he is, do not approach him and call St. Thomas Police at 519-631-1364 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the local St. Thomas number at 519-631-8477.
