The father of a Drumbo woman found dead in her car near Woodstock says he can’t think of one person that ever had a bad thing to say about her.
Colin Rowe says his daughter Jessica was a “phenomenal mom” who “always brightened up a room.”
Oxford County OPP say a woman’s body was located after a vehicle was reported by a concerned resident. The vehicle was parked on the side of Canning Road between Highway 2 and Township Road at around 9:35 a.m. Saturday.
Police haven’t identified Rowe as the victim, but her family is already speaking out.
Speaking with AM980, Colin Rowe said her death is a devastating loss to her son and fiancé.
“She was always the life of the room, her big smile, huge hearty laugh. No matter where she went, she brightened up a room,” he said. “She was a phenomenal mom, and her little guy is just three weeks away from his first birthday, and she was only two weeks away from her birthday, and only a month away from their wedding.”
Investigators are treating the death as “suspicious” but haven’t released any information surrounding the circumstances of her death.
Rowe said he knows that police have been “working like crazy,” but he’s looking for answers.
“I need to know what happened to my baby. I need to know. No matter what it is, I’ve got to have the answers. How it’s going to make me feel after, I don’t know. I don’t think I could possibly feel any worse than I do right now.”
A Go Fund Me page set up to raise money for funeral and day-to-day expenses has already exceeded its goal of $10,000.
“The response has been absolutely tremendous and they have no idea just how much, not just the money part, but just knowing that there’s so many people out there sending their well-wishes and their support and their prayers, and it’s been amazing for us as a family to see that much support come through,” said Rowe.
OPP have assigned a criminal detective to the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
