Provincial police now say the discovery of a Drumbo woman’s body near Princeton over the weekend is “suspicious.”
Oxford County OPP say a woman’s body was located after a vehicle was reported by a concerned resident. The vehicle was parked on the side of Canning Road between Highway 2 and Township Road at around 9:35 a.m. Saturday.
Very few other details have been released by police, including the victim’s identity, or any information surrounding the circumstances of her death.
A Go Fund Me page identifies the woman as Jessica Rowe.
Her father, Colin Rowe, spoke to AM980 about the devastating loss to her son and fiance.
“She was always the life of the room, her big smile, huge hearty laugh. No matter where she went, she brightened up a room,” he said. “She was a phenomenal mom, and her little guy is just three weeks away from his first birthday, and she was only two weeks away from her birthday, and only a month away from their wedding.”
Rowe said he knows that police have been “working like crazy,” but he’s looking for answers.
“I need to know what happened to my baby. I need to know. No matter what it is, I’ve got to have the answers. How it’s going to make me feel after, I don’t know. I don’t think I could possibly feel any worse than I do right now.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, more than $10,000 has been raised to assist in covering funeral costs, as well as contribute to anything needed for her son, Noah, and fiance, Jim.
“The response has been absolutely tremendous and they have no idea just how much, not just the money part, but just knowing that there’s so many people out there sending their well-wishes and their support and their prayers, and it’s been amazing for us as a family to see that much support come through.”
OPP have assigned a criminal detective to the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
