London Police are warning the public about a possible ‘sympathy’ scam.
There have been two recent reports of a woman approaching victims in the area of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East.
According to police, the woman told the individuals she drove from Tennessee and stopped in London to grab something to eat. She said while she was in the restaurant her vehicle was broken into and several items were stolen.
She asked the victims for money to assist her.
The suspect is described as white, approximately 45 to 55-years-old. She was driving a black four-door car with damage to the rear passenger side door and the back window was missing.
The vehicle had Tennessee license plates, but the plate number is not known.
Police say both instances occurred in the early evening hours.
