Elgin County OPP say a second person has succumbed to their injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on Highbury Ave. on Friday.
Police say a white Sterling dump truck was traveling northbound on Highbury Ave., just south of Ferguson Line, around 11:40 a.m. Friday.
The dump truck veered into the southbound lane and struck a black Dodge car. The dump truck then struck a silver Dodge pickup truck head on — the pickup truck had been driving behind the car.
The driver of the pickup truck, 47-year-old David Guenther of Bayham, Ontario, was taken to hospital in critical condition and has succumbed to his injuries.
The passenger of the pickup truck, 20-year-old Hakeem Krahn of Malahide, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck, a 42-year-old male from London, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later discharged.
The driver of the car and its passenger were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger has since been released.
Police say they are still investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
