One person was killed and another seriously injured early Sunday in a single-vehicle rollover collision in Middlesex Centre, just outside London.
Middlesex OPP, EMS, and Fire officials were called to the scene northwest of the city on Oxbow Drive between Coldstream Road and Nairn Road around 6 a.m., police said.
The single motor vehicle involved rolled several times in the crash and was located by emergency crews in the ditch.
Police say two occupants were located with the vehicle. One was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police have not released the identities of the two pending notification of next of kin.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are looking into the cause of the collision, and anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
Sunday morning’s collision is the third fatal single-vehicle collision in the region in a 24 hour period.
Lambton OPP are continuing to investigate a collision that occurred around 6 a.m. Saturday along Lambton Line between Annett Rd. and Downie Rd. near Bothwell. A badly damaged vehicle was located by emergency crews in a ditch north of the roadway. A lone male occupant inside the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Several hours later, around 4 p.m., Middlesex OPP and other emergency crews were called to an address on Longwoods Rd. near Glencoe in Southwest Middlesex. Police say a single motor vehicle collided into a tree in the rear of a property on Longwoods. A 27-year-old male was located inside the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
The investigation into both collisions is ongoing, and police have not released any further information.
