There’s been a slight dip in the local jobless rate.
According to figures released Friday morning by Statistics Canada, the unemployment rate for the London-St. Thomas region stood at 7.2 per cent in July.
That’s down slightly from 7.3 per cent in June.
Provincially, the jobless rate held steady at 6.4 per cent month-over-month.
The national unemployment rate was 6.9 per cent in July, up from 6.8 per cent the previous month.
Canada’s economy lost 31,200 jobs in July, far worse than analysts had anticipated.
