Ontario Provincial Police were kept very busy over the Civic long weekend.
According to newly released figures, four people were killed as a result of traffic and marine-related incidents on Ontario roads and waterways.
Officers were patrolling highways and waterways, charging more than 450 drivers under the Highway Traffic Act as part of their “Slow Down, Move Over” campaign.
This, despite having a pre-weekend reminder about the upcoming initiative.
Operation Dry Water was also carried out, as Police were busy checking boats on various waterways.
More than 180 alcohol and other marine-related charges were laid.
