Londoners of all ages packed Ivey Park Thursday night for the first ever Pokemon Go community event.
The popularity of the online game was in full display with as many as 2,500 people attending the event, which was far more than what was expected.
About 700 people had committed online to attend the event but the final tally exceeded the number of people invited on the event’s facebook page.
The event started at 7p.m. and the park was still packed two hours later.
Pokemon Go has become a worldwide phenomenon since it went online only a few weeks ago.
It has only been available in Canada for about a week, but many downloaded it illegally beforehand due to the popularity of the game which uses the GPS on your phone.
