Chatham-Kent Police have made an arrest nearly three months after a Good Samaritan was assaulted by a stranger while helping a motorcyclist.
It was around 3:30 p.m. on May 7th when a 63-year-old man helping a disabled motorcyclist was approached by an unknown man who began to argue with him.
The suspect then punched the man in the head and throat; the man suffered a fractured larynx and was airlifted to London for emergency surgery. The victim has since been released and is now recovering at home.
Police released images of the suspect last month and thanks to information from the public and further investigation, made an arrest Tuesday morning.
Chatham-Kent Police say 40-year-old David Chopp of Chatham is charged with aggravated assault.
