Just over two months after Andrew Lockie officially left his position as CEO of the United Way London and Middlesex, a new CEO has been named.
Director of Community Engagement Kelly Ziegner was named Tuesday as the new CEO, replacing Andrew Lockie who has moved on as CEO of the YMCA of Western Ontario. She will officially take on the role August 15th.
“I worked very closely with our former CEO Andrew Lockie,” Ziegner tells AM980.
“I got to see the ins and outs and the opportunities and challenges that lay before our organization and community as a whole. Some of them are daunting but mostly it’s really exciting because there is incredible possibility and opportunity for everyone in our community.”
Ziegner has worked for 20 years in the non-profit sector with the United Way and with the Thames Valley Children’s Centre.
She’s a graduate of King’s University College and Western University and is a life-long Londoner.
“Our board believes Kelly’s history with the United Way Movement and unique mix of skills and leadership qualities position her for success in leading our organization forward,” says Lynn Logan, Chair of the Board of Directors.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to congratulate Kelly on her new role with United Way.”
The board of directors also thanks Karen Dalton for her leadership as Interim CEO during the transition period.
