The International Olympic Committee has rejected a complete ban against Russia’s Olympic team for the Rio Games due to state-sponsored doping.
The IOC says it is leaving the decision up to global federations whether or not Russian athletes should be able to compete in their sports.
The committee says it will deny entry of Russian athletes who do not meet requirements set out for the federations.
Russia’s track and field athletes have already been banned, a decision that was upheld Thursday by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
More to come.
