The cause of an overnight fire at a two-storey home in the city’s east end Saturday remains under investigation, but fire officials say they aren’t viewing it as suspicious.
Members of London Fire and London Police were called to the scene at 174 Delaware St. just after midnight following a report from a neighbour of an active fire at the address.
At the scene, crews were met with flames coming out of the building’s front living room window.
Firefighters initially knocked down the fire from outside the building and then quickly moved inside to finish extinguishing the flames. In all, officials said the blaze was contained in around 15 minutes.
Fire officials are continuing to investigate, and a damage estimate has been pegged at around $100,000. No foul play is suspected, police said.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and officials say no injuries were reported.
