LTC officials say the driver of one of their vehicles involved in a fatal crash this week is not currently on duty.
London Police say a pedestrian that was struck Monday night has succumbed to her injuries.
Police say the bus was travelling southbound on Clarke Road at about 10:30 p.m. Monday when the driver made a left turn into the Argyle Mall Parking lot and struck a pedestrian.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and a 56-year-old woman was rushed to hospital.
The woman succumbed to her injuries, but police have not yet released her name.
LTC General Manager Kelly Paleczny told AM980 they are co-operating with the investigation.
“Obviously our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends. I can confirm that the LTC is cooperating with the ongoing LPS investigation.”
Very few details have been released at this time as the investigation continues and no charges have been laid.
Paleczny said the driver of the bus has been pulled from duty.
“I can confirm that the operator is not currently driving, that’s as much as I can confirm at this time.”
It’s not clear how many passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Police are asking any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact London Police or Crime Stoppers.
