London police say a 56 year old woman has died after she was struck by an LTC bus.
Police say the bus was travelling southbound along Clarke Road around 10:30 p.m. Monday when the driver made a left turn into the Argyle Mall Parking Lot and struck a pedestrian.
Emergency Services responded to the scene at Clarke Road and Whitney Street. The victim was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
“Obviously our thoughts are with the victims’ family and friends,” said Kelly Paleczny, LTC General Manager.
“I can confirm that the LTC is cooperating with the ongoing LPS (London Police Service) investigation.”
Paleczny told AM980 the operator involved in the collision is not currently driving, but she couldn’t comment any further.
The London Police Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and is currently investigating the crash.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward by calling (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
