Windsor Police are investigating an attempted murder and kidnapping case that began in Windsor and ended on a roadside near Ingersoll.
Officers say the ordeal began Tuesday evening in the 3700-block of Montcalm St. in west Windsor.
Police say a woman was abducted from her home by a man known to her and was then taken outside the city limits.
The woman was able to make her escape from the vehicle off the 401 near Ingersoll where she then contacted police.
The suspect was located and arrested at a truck stop in Woodstock just after 6 a.m. Wednesday with the assistance of Oxford OPP and Woodstock Police.
A 42-year-old man is charged with attempted murder, forcible confinement, kidnapping, and assault with a weapon along with several other offences.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
Police say they are still investigating as to whether the victim sustained any injuries.
