About a week after school let out, Tavistock Public School has been the victim of a break, enter, and mischief.
Oxford County OPP say the school is closed for the summer and it was secured in the afternoon last Thursday.
Sometime between 9:49 p.m. and 9:52 p.m. on Monday night the off-site security company received multiple alarms.
The security company attended, though the building looked secure.
On Tuesday morning, a school employee entered the school and discovered the break-in and mischief.
Police say the suspect(s) broke a window to get into the school. They then proceeded to dump paint on one of the classroom floors, damage two laptops, set a piece of paper on fire, and remove a portable radio and smash it outside.
Total damage is estimated between $2,500 and $4,000.
