Reigning American League MVP Josh Donaldson was one of three Toronto Blue Jays named to the AL all-star roster on Tuesday.
Designated Hitter Edwin Encarnacion and starter Marco Estrada will join Donaldson at the mid-summer classic in San Diego next Tuesday.
Tune into the MLB all-star game on AM980 at Petco Park on Tuesday, July 12th at 8 p.m.
This marks Donaldson’s third straight all-star appearance. The 30-year-old third baseman may also be a candidate for the home run derby after participating in the event the last two years.
Encarnacion will make his third career all star game appearance while Estrada will appear for the first time in his career.
Donaldson, Encarnacion, and Estrada were all name American League reserves.
Canadian outfielder Michael Saunders is also one of five finalists for the all-star game final vote. Voting begins Tuesday night with the winners begin announced on Friday.
