Former Canadian teen idol and singer Bobby Curtola has died at the age of 73.
The Thunder Bay native’s death was announced in a statement from his children, who called their father “an amazing man who did so much for the people in this world.”
Curtola was a teen idol in Canada in the early 60s. He made his mark internationally in 1962 with the singles “Fortune Teller” and “Aladdin.” He was named to the Order of Canada in 1997.
Curtola was known for his charity work to help children. Chris Curtola and Michael Curtola said their father loved his fans in a statement issued through Curtola’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
