London City Council made a few high profile decisions on Tuesday evening.
The group unanimously approved a proposal to paint a pair of rainbow crosswalks in time for London’s Pride Festival parade in July.
The locations of the crosswalks, which will be in support of the community’s LGBTQ community, are still up for debate.
Councillors Jesse Helmer and Tanya Park have suggested to paint the intersections of Dundas and Ontario streets as well as Dufferin Avenue and Wellington Road, where the annual parade route starts and ends.
Meantime, Council also voted in favour of a public participation meeting in regards to a possible noise by-law exemption during Country Music Week this fall.
The request, filed by Tourism London, hopes to have the noise limit extended from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. during the outdoor concerts scheduled to be held in the downtown core from September 8th to the 10th.
The public participation meeting is set to be held June 21st.
