With a hot and sunny day on tap, a special air quality statement is now in effect for London-Middlesex.
The alert was issued by Environment Canada as possible high levels of air pollution are expected.
A special statement is also in place for Elgin, Huron-Perth, Oxford-Brant, Sarnia-Lambton, Simcoe-Delhi-Norfolk, Waterloo-Wellington and Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent.
Conditions are expected to increase ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon.
Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath.
Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.
If you experience any symptoms consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities until the special air quality statement is lifted.
