The St. Thomas man arrested in connection with a homicide from nearly a year and a half ago has been released on bail.
Michael Wilkins appeared in court on Thursday and was released on $10,000 bail after his brother agreed to act as a his surety. He was arrested on Saturday, May 7th in Woodstock and was charged with manslaughter in the death of 36-year-old Danny DiGiandomenico.
DiGiandomenico was the owner and operator of Upper Deck Restaurant in St. Thomas. He was found dead inside his Talbot St. apartment on Christmas night, 2014. St. Thomas Police ruled his death a homicide after an autopsy determined he died from sharp force trauma.
According to the St. Thomas Times Journal, a number of conditions were imposed upon Wilkins during his hearing on Thursday including a stipulation that he must stay with his brother in Woodstock. The 29-year-old also can’t enter St. Thomas unless it’s an emergency and his brother is with him.
