One person has been taken to hospital with possible life threatening injuries following a two vehicle crash early Thursday morning north of London on Elginfield Road.
Middlesex County OPP say a grey Dodge van was travelling north bound on Denfield Road when it collided with a transport trailer travelling westbound on Elginfield Road just before 6:30 a.m. The transport truck ended up in the north ditch.
The driver of the transport was taken to hospital by ambulance with possible life threatening injuries. The driver of the van, the only person in the vehicle, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“We have our Technical Traffic Collision Investigators enroute to assist with the investigation and we’ve closed the roadways in the area, and the investigation is still in it’s early stages,” said OPP Constable Liz Melvin.
It appears weather conditions was good at the time of the incident.
“I spoke with the investigator approximately an hour after the crash, and they were still on scene and they weren’t reporting any fog in the area,” Melvin said.
Elginfield Road is closed between Vanneck Road and Coursey Line and Denfield Road between 16 Mile Road and Airport Road are closed while police investigate.
It’s not known when the road is expected to reopen.
