Across the province, 17 records were set for cold weather on Sunday.
Barrie set a cold weather record yesterday, breaking the mark that was set when John A. MacDonald was still in office as Canada’s first prime minister.
Temperatures there hit a blistering -33.3 degrees Celsius. The previous record was -31.1 degrees.
London didn’t see any weather records broken yesterday. The lowest temperature recorded in the city was minus 24 at 8 a.m. just two degrees short of the record set in 1970 at minus 26.1
Forecasters say temperatures will return to seasonal norms Monday.
