The Thames Valley District School Board says classes will resume Tuesday at Tweedsmuir Public School after an early morning incident on Monday saw one of the school’s windows smashed, and gasoline poured inside at least one of the rooms.
London Police, and members of the Hazmat unit responded to the elementary school in the Gore and Hamilton Road area around 5:30 a.m. Monday morning following reports of vandalism.
No fire was set, but officials are still assessing the damage.
“It’s more clean-up costs. There is damage to the point of entry, so combined, it’s about $5,000,” said London Police Constable Ken Steeves.
The school was closed all day Monday as a result of the incident.
Police have not made any arrests.
“We don’t have any suspects in relation to this investigation as of yet. We’re encouraging anyone with any information to contact either us or Crime Stoppers.”
