London Police are set to respond to concerns over a decision to slap the Western Mustangs cheerleading squad with a $140 fine.
Police issued a statement on Sunday, saying questions about the incident will be addressed on Monday.
The $140 ticket (pictured) was issued during homecoming celebrations on Broughdale Ave, just south of campus, as several dozen cheerleaders made their way to Saturday’s football game.
An impromptu cheer — which included a chant, and tossing a female cheerleader in the air — caught the attention of a London Police officer.
The ticket claims they were “causing a nuisance in the street by conducting a cheerleading performance.”
Police officers have stepped up their patrols surrounding the college and University in recent weeks as part of their Project L.E.A.R.N. campaign.
The Mustangs still won the big homecoming game 50-31 over Queen’s in front of a sellout crowd of over 12,000 at TD Stadium.
